Frequently Asked Questions

USING BREATHE WITH PIP

WHICH BREATHING PATH SHOULD I CHOOSE?

You don't need to find the “perfect” path. Start with what you're noticing in your child and use The Feelings Map to find a path you can try. Over time, your child may naturally develop a few favorites.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO PRACTISE?

Start on the good days. Practising when your child is already relatively calm gives them time to become familiar with Pip and the breathing paths without pressure. That familiarity can make the tool easier to return to during harder moments.

HOW LONG SHOULD WE USE A BREATHING PATH?

There's no need to turn it into a long activity. Start small, follow the path together, and pay attention to your child's response. Breathe with Pip is designed to be a simple tool you can return to — not another task your child has to complete.

PRINTING & DIGITAL ACCESS

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE COLOR AND COLORING BOARDS?

The color set includes 12 ready-to-use illustrated breathing boards. The black-and-white set contains the same 12 paths in a coloring-friendly format, giving children another way to become familiar with their favorite paths.

CAN I USE BREATHE WITH PIP WITHOUT A PRINTER?

Absolutely. You can use the interactive breathing pacer directly from a phone, tablet, or computer. Printing the boards gives you another way to use the kit, but you don't need a printer to get started.

CAN I SAVE THE BREATHE WITH PIP PAGE FOR EASY ACCESS?

Yes. We recommend saving the Breathe with Pip page to your browser favorites or home screen, so it's easy to find whenever you'd like to use it.

THE INTERACTIVE PACER

WHAT ARE THE 3 BREATHING PACES?

The interactive pacer includes 3·5, 4·6 and 5·7 second rhythms. This lets you choose a pace that feels comfortable for your child instead of using the same timing every time.

DOES THE INTERACTIVE PACER INCLUDE ALL 12 PATHS?

Yes. The interactive experience includes the same 12 breathing paths found in the printable collection, so your child can recognize familiar paths whether they're following Pip on paper or on screen.

WHAT DOES MY CHILD DO WHILE PIP IS MOVING?

Choose a path and pace, press Play, and let your child follow Pip as he travels along the route while breathing with the movement. You can sit beside your child and follow along together.

ABOUT BREATHE WITH PIP

IS BREATHE WITH PIP THERAPY?

No. Breathe with Pip is a practical breathing tool for children and their grown-ups, not therapy or a substitute for professional medical or mental-health support.

WILL BREATHE WITH PIP STOP EVERY MELTDOWN?

No — and that's not what it's designed to promise. Children have hard moments for many different reasons. Breathe with Pip simply gives you and your child a familiar breathing tool to practise and return to when it feels appropriate.

WHAT MAKES BREATHE WITH PIP DIFFERENT FROM OTHER BREATHING ACTIVITIES?

Breathe with Pip brings the experience together in one system: 12 visual paths, the recurring Pip character, printable and interactive ways to follow them, guidance for choosing where to start, and simple words to use while practising together.
